Career-minded applicants seeking an innovative education will find a variety of vocational training options at Martins College of Cosmetology. "Students here love the fact that the college is so much like a salon environment," explains Admissions Director Bridget Derge, "allowing them to practice in a setting that mimics the real working atmosphere."

Wisconsin isn't just renowned for its scenic coastlines and picturesque harbor towns -- it is also home to REGIS: Martins College of Cosmetology.

This career training college promotes the mission of providing training and education to develop natural creative ability to prepare students for a successful career in the exciting, growing and personally satisfying Beauty Industry. With campuses located throughout Wisconsin, prospective candidates have the choice of accessing classes in Green Bay, Appleton, Madison, Milwaukee and Manitowoc.

What sets Martins College of Cosmetology apart from some Beauty Schools is the fact that it offers diverse educational platforms in cosmetology, dermicologica, educator training, Esthetics, massage therapy, and nail technology. Its cosmetology program is quite comprehensive in nature; providing students with 1,800 hours of in-depth and hands-on training in cutting edge hair styling techniques (cutting, styling, perms, coloring, etc.), nail care (including manicuring), Skin Care (including facials, Makeup application) and practical clinical experience, which is acquired through its many onsite campus salons. Furthermore, students participating in the cosmetology program will also gain unique training in shiatsu. Expert interaction with students is also another distinguishing quality of Martins College of Cosmetology, says Derge. "We have Regis Art Directors coming into the school quarterly to provide one-on-one training to students," she explains.

All students enrolled in the cosmetology program are issued a cosmetology kit that includes necessary field equipment, such as sheers, trimmers, clippers, manicure set, makeup kit; and various combs, brushes, and other hair styling accessories. Successful graduates receive certification of completion and are eligible to take the state licensing exam to become fully licensed. To make education easily accessible to working adults and full-time parents, four of Martins College of Cosmetology's five campus locations offer part-time studies.

The esthetics program offered at REGIS: Martins College of Cosmetology is offered at three of its five campuses. There, students engage in a 600-hour course of study involving training in body wrapping, waxing and sugaring (hair removal technique), skin and chemical exfoliations (does not include microderm abrasion), and relative skin care techniques. As an interesting elective, students in the esthetics program will also learn how to practice ear candling -- a unique and natural way to remove ear wax. Students who achieve all required coursework in this program will earn a certificate of completion and are eligible to become state licensed by taking the state board exam on esthetics.

In addition to salon and beauty training, students enrolled at Martins College of Cosmetology have the option to participate in its 720-hour massage therapy program. With an emphasis on holistic health, students will gain comprehensive instruction in a vast assortment of massage modalities including acupressure, deep tissue massage, hot stone massage, hydrotherapy, reflexology, sports massage and trigger point. This massage therapy program also includes the ear candling elective and comes with a comprehensive massage kit entailing text books, massage table, and uniform. Graduates of the massage therapy program earn certificates of completion and are eligible to take state and national certification exams to become fully licensed massage therapists.

Additional courses offered at Martins College of Cosmetology include continuing education courses for graduates, a 300-hour nail technology program, and a 150-hour educator training program. Amenities include newly remodeled, modern campuses with styling stations, student lounge, library and salon environment.

Students interested in enrolling in Martins College of Cosmetology can explore financial aid possibilities, including FAFSA (Federal Grants and Loans), VA educational assistance programs, payment plan options, and alternative loan options through Sallie Mae. As an added job placement advantage, explains Derge, "school directors work with students to help them graduate and with job placement assistance."
